As like I mention before, each one of the group must give a presentation for their business activity.Before starting the presentation, all of the group must submit the report to Madam Rafidah and she told us that after all of the presentation finish, there would be a quiz for us to take. This quiz is the first quiz for this class.

Today, my group selected to be the first group to begin the presentation session. My groups succeed to present nicely and we hope that they have clearly understand what our plan is.

So, what are the problems I encountered this week? For me, i just want to mention about the presentation held that day. There is some group didn’t ready to present when they didn’t take out their plan clearly. I’m also sort of lost with some of the group presentation which they didn’t mention about their business theme and their company’s name. Hence, there are group that not alert with instruction that being carry out by Madam, as example there are two groups that didn’t submit their report.

Madam Rafidah also did mention about the presentation where she reminds us to stick and focus to one type of business only and not much than that in one business project. She did also mention about some of the group that didn’t use suitable colour for their presentation slide. Lastly, she expects us to have much more quality in presenting from each one of the group in that class.

This week, we got to discuss for the presentation that will be held on this coming Thursday (27th August 2009). For this week presentation, the session will be done on a short but compact with information and also, Madam Rafidah want us to prepare only three slide for that presentation. We also need to choose the presenter to present the business activity that we’d planned.

On the presentation day, our group member Erma Zahura Hamzah has been trusted to present our agenda. We’ve ready with three slides which contains; for firtst slide we presenting the Organizational Chart of Techno Apprentice. Second slide we have presenting all of the business suggestion from our “organization members”. (We stated which one of the suggestion from group member that we chose. For the last slide, we explain about the business idea. (Promoting the business themes, presenting the workshop title, and our target audience).

As usual, in every discussion we’ve made, we never face big problems that stopping us to ending our discussion. Just for this time, we face a little bit of difficulties for us to determine what kind of content should be put in the presentation slide so that it would satisfy Madam Rafidah.

For this class, Madam Rafidah gave another important task to the entire group. She requested us to develop one business activity based on business activity theme for this semester. Based on the theme, we have to plan a business venture to generate profit. The project will end in Week 13 of this semester. Then, we have to start by brainstorming for possible venture for our group and plan for the next action. We also need to build website as a medium to promote our business. Besides that, we have to decide each group member’s role for this project. She also reminds us to follow the deadline to submit progress report, progress presentation, final report and final presentation slides.

What I have done for this meeting?My group members and me has gone through a discussion meeting on this matter to choose our business activity theme, and finally decided to choose “ Education “ as our theme. As the activity which will be organize to make this project happen, we’ve plan to organize a ‘Laptop Formatting Workshop‘ for our business activity. We also decided to bring up our new organizational chart for this project.

Talking about problem which I confront this week, I just want to stress on how we’re still not fully getting the big picture on the planning phase for this project. Due to lack of experience on managing this kind of project, ( that includes each one of the group member ) we stranded with many questions on what kind of equipment we should prepare for this project, who will be the tutor, etc.


Business activity theme for this semester is Social Entrepreneurship. Before deciding on what kind of business we will pick, we should firstly know and must go through the Social Entrepreneurship subject and its meaning.

Based on the Wikipedia, “ Social entrepreneurship is the work of a social entrepreneur. A social entrepreneur is someone who recognizes a social problem and uses entrepreneurial principles to organize, create, and manage a venture to make social change. Whereas a business entrepreneur typically measures performance in profit and return, a social entrepreneur assesses success in terms of the impact she/he has on society as well as in profit and return. While social entrepreneurs often work through nonprofits and citizen groups, many are now working in the private and governmental sectors and making a real impact on society.”

In the last meeting, we’ve done the proposal for our business idea in our previous discussion, so now we are ready to present our proposal. But before that, we need to choose four presenters that will be responsible to present our business idea. Before we start the presentation, Madam Rafidah instruct us to combine with another group. In other word, one group will be presenting to another group. Then we must evaluate each other group business idea proposal.

We accomplish to choose four presenters which is the best from our group. The first presenter is Azuaza Binti Abdullah. She has the responsibility to present the business idea of animation application. The second presenter for our group is Nur Farhana Binti Mohd Razali whom being trust to present the virtual reality application. Our director, Chin Zie Loong presents the game design application, and for the last application, my group have decided to choose me, Noorshakira Binti Ismail as the last presenter to present our business idea for multimedia design application. Me and my group have chose the Symphony Vision group to be evaluate by our group.

The problem which I confront during that day in the presentation session was I have done a slight mistake during evaluating other groups proposal.

The brainstorming stage that is performed last week by each group roughly is to gain business idea for each type of application. For this week, all groups have prepared detailed business idea generate based on the iCAAP Competition theme. As we know the competition theme is ‘One Malaysia’. So, each group has prepared four business idea proposals for each type of category which is Animation, Virtual Reality, Game Design and Multimedia Design. This business idea must be present during next class on 10th August 2009. That’s mean we have to make the preparation for the presentation before this coming Monday.

What I have done this week was brainstorming with all group members to prepare four business idea based on the theme. We have proposed different application for each type of application. For the animation application we have proposed short scene like news and we named it as ‘Bulletin Malaysia’ program. For virtual reality application we decided to build the environment that will expose the ‘Malaysian Custom of Wedding’. Then to commemorate Malaysia warrior’s loyal service, we choose to develop ‘Malaysian Warriors’ as our game design application. Furthermore, on multimedia design application, we decided to develop Digital Storytelling. This Digital storytelling is about ‘Voice of Malaysia’.

As usual for all meeting with my group members we don’t have any serious problem that will aggravate our discussion. But, for this discussion we feel a bit difficult to get the best idea based on the theme.
